We’re constantly heading somewhere, even all the time we are in the same place.
This year we decided to take advantage of Scottish winter and do things, for what there was no time by the years.
One of this “things” is new bookmark above the blog.
DreamsSanctuary – The result of Kasia’s creativity.
Ever since remember I spent my days doing some crafts. Who has been lucky enough, may remember Ibis bird wading among reeds on ours corridor’s wall in Wrocław.
It appears during our cycling trips – that is why I always have in my panier box full of watercolour pencils and sketchbook. Sometimes even we manage to give that better thank you to most important people for us, on our way.
Scottish grasslands full of sheep, and the wool all over the place couldn’t lead me anywhere else than into spinning. I could write, to knitting, but spinning forced on me learning how to knit.
There is nothing better in touch than raw fleece full of lanolin.
And all this is about how the DreamsSanctuary happened. From the dreams, dreams to art, creativity and imagination, and the most important from the willing to share it with another people!
What a huge joy was the first sale! And where it went? Across the ocean! Every another makes the same joy! That I want to jump to the ceiling or make a wee happy dance! Because that’s not money  what is the most important, but the thing, that something created in my mind and done with my hands, can be liked by another person!

     


Oh! Almost forgot about that! In the meantime had happened for us something what is maybe completely normal for everyone else but not us. Since we are together – more than 8 years now – inseparably, apart from the time at work doing different shifts.
We’ve got 4 days off at work, but I had to stay here in Scotland (about that I’ll tell in a minute), and Przemo googled the best connection ever for himself  Oban-Glasgow-Edynburg-Monachium-Edynburg-Glasgow-Oban for that 4 days and he escaped to Oberegerhousen in germans Alps to visit his Mum.  What a shame that would be if kept his fingers crossed in Fort William instead with that idyllic view to Hochfelln and sun rays on his face.
Anyway. We know something now!

Everywhere is good, but with Wife is even better!

       


The next “thing” what found the right moment now, is  our driving licences. I have that behind me!! Hours spent behind steering wheel, miles driven on different roads, and then the practical test. The most calm test in my life ever. Calm and relaxed with that absolute certainty that I’ll do it NOW! Or maybe that was the Przemo’s fingers crossed in Germany? And now I just waiting for my driving licence be received by post on the sofa ;) . Przemo just came back home with his certificate of passed theory test. Now he just have to prepare himself for that draining a wallet driving lessons with the instructor. And soon we will be able to wander across the country without miles limits what bike gave us if we had only 2 days off. We will be able to explore the most beautiful spots and places in Scotland without rain stopping us at home.
But first of all we need a car :D Reserch has been done, which car is the best to fit two bikes with no hassle, still a lot to read and learn about insurance and another paper work. But we are soo excited that is closer than ever been before!

We’ve disappeared from here so it looks like forever almost, but not. Blog just wasn’t on our way recently for some reason, quite a lot of work currently in our lives for a moment, a bit too much meaningless contents, from which we are running away to the forest, or on the bike, to hide somewhere where only wind and ocean waves you can hear, apart from sheeps meeeees, which are always around us. With promise to improve frequency of writing here we begin to catch up. For the beginning a short movie from as short winter cycling trip to Thailand, where with Karola we cycled a few hundreds kilometers from Bkk to Phuket :).

Winter came with the new year. It became snowy and frosty, time for building igloo and making snowman. Italy could wait indeed. Accidently a bit, we found ourselves snowboarding in Dolomites. But Przemo managed to fall down properly on his first ever day on snowboard, he broke his rib and didn’t ride much after that. Now we just hope he cure reasonably quickly, as soon we are leaving here for a while to some warmer part of the world :).

Alps couldn’t decide if that’s winter or it’s still spring around? Cause who would normally think to eat breakfast outside in December, not dressed properly? Cold in the shadow, but flowers around, everythink was green and whole world was so sunny…

 

Our first Christmas in home from a few years. Quite nice. Preparing christmas tree, cooking food, buying presents, christmas markets… only snow missing, but actually sun was really nice too :).

  

   

Apart from preparing for Christmas, Kasia spent her time mostly on crocheting in the sunshine but sometimes it took her even whole day or even up to 6 o’clock in the morning – never ending list of presents to make – and I was cycling around here. Evenings we were spending mostly next to the fire, cooking some delicious food or walking somewhere.

   

But there was not only three of us, as also parents with Karola came for christmas, so we were all together.

 

   

And Christmas has finished. The idea was, to cross Alps on the bikes and then cycle towards south Italy. We bought flight tickets back from Bari to Prague and we started packing up. But that wasn’t going very well, as we were planning to leave on Monday and we began packing up on Tuesday. Finally we menaged to go on Wednesday. After chatting overnight with Karola and short sleep we woke up, said goodbye to everyone and left. After first turn we felt strange. Or more like – we felt sad and felt like coming back. We never felt that way so strong before after leaving some place. Was it that good for us here? First time ever we didn’t really felt like going somewhere else as we felt that we finally arrived, as Ewa perfectly described once. That feeling will pass away, we thought. If not after 3 days, then we’ll come back. We arrived to Reit im Winkl (35km). We sat down on the bench in the sun to have a sandwich. So what we do?
We arrived to Kössen, in Austria, a few km further.
We bought gifts for everyone from Austria and turned back…
Maybe this is what we really needed now? From few years, if we were not in Scotland we were travelling. Maybe we needed that morning coffee, reading books, cooking, walking and that feeling that we don’t have to do anything, even to cycle. Or maybe we really felt that we arrived? That’s so beautiful and good here, that what’s the point in going somewhere else? Or maybe something else? Anyway, we decided to trust our feelings.
Italy can wait.
